Jump to Recipe

I haven’t come across a person who has said I don’t like desserts! A little less or an extra more, everyone loves desserts! And what is the most loved ingredient when it comes to desserts? Well, no points for guessing, it is chocolate!

Today, I decided to put together the beloved chocolate in one of its most popular forms: a classic chocolate mousse! The light, airy, foamy texture is going to make you fall in love with it and the best part is, it requires only 2 ingredients and a few minutes of your time.

Here’s what you need:
  • 300 ml of whipping cream (100 ml to make the ganache; 200 ml to whip to stiff peaks)
  • 200 gm of chocolate
How to make it:
  • The first step is to make a ganache, for which you need to melt the chopped dark chocolate and whipping cream on a double boiler till it is all well combined. PS for a well-detailed article on how to make the ganache, click here.
  • Beat this for a minute or so till it is all uniform and glossy.
  • Leave it to rest for some time. In the meanwhile, you can beat or whip the whipping cream.
  • Beat the whipping cream with an electric beater or stand mixer till you get soft peaks.
  • Keep on beating till you almost reach the stiff peaks stage and then gradually and gently mix the ganache into this whipped cream a little at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Continue beating till all of the ganache is uniformly blended with the whipped cream.
  • Your rich, airy, light, and delicious chocolate mousse is ready! Serve it in individual glasses or in a bigger single dish.
  • To make it look even more tempting, you can decorate it with some chocolate shavings, strawberries, and powdered sugar, or even some more whipped cream!

So what are you waiting for? Grab your prettiest apron and a whisk, put on your favorite song and start creating the magic! Do share your experience of this post and recipe and your views and opinions! I would love to hear them!
