Cake Pops

Jump to Recipe

These pretty babies are not just a Popular Kids Treat but are loved alike by adults as well.

They are fun to put together and if you have children around, they can be great assistants for this project and they’ll love it!

You can use leftover cake to make something totally beautiful and delicious in its own right. Yes we’re talking Cakepops! Or you can bake a Cake especially to make Cakepops out of it (like I do).

So lets begin!!

What You Will Need:
  • 400 gm of cake or cupcakes or their leftovers
  • 150 gm of melted dark chocolate
  • Lollipop sticks
For the Top Coating:
  • 200 gm of dark chocolate
  • 200 gm of white chocolate
  • Sprinkles of your choice
How To Make It:
  • Crumble all the cake nicely.
  • Pour in the melted chocolate and mix thoroughly.
  • Now take a handful and roll into balls (whatever size you prefer). Keep the balls covered in the fridge for half an hour to firm up.
  • In the meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate and white chocolate and pour each into separate deep bowls (or glasses as I prefer).
  • Now take the cake balls out from the fridge and leave them out for a few minutes. You don’t want to dip cold cake balls in hot chocolate because that will make the chocolate coating develop a crack once it sets.
  • Dip a lollipop stick in the dark chocolate (white chocolate if you will be coating it with White) as you can see in the picture above. Then insert the stick into a cake ball about one-third into the ball. Now dip this cake ball into the Dark (or White) Chocolate and let it drip out completely.
  • You can coat it more than once if you so prefer.  Sprinkle decorations or sprinkles of your choice on this or dip it right in a bowl full of sprinkles!
  • Now stand it straight into the thermocol till it dries out completely and the chocolate is set. Or you could just place them on a tray.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your prettiest apron and a whisk, put on your favorite song, and start creating the magic! Do share your experience of this post and recipe and your views and opinions! I would love to hear them!
