Baked Potatoes | Potato Gratin

Baked Potatoes or Potato Gratin is an absolute favorite of mine as well as of everyone else in my family! And I can assure you, it will soon be your favorite too! The recipe calls for lots of cream, lots of cheese, lots of milk, and a pretty good amount of dry as well as green herbs.

Here’s what you need:
  • 8 big potatoes, sliced
  • 2 big onions, sliced
  • 1 cup of cream
  • ¼ cup of cilantro
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup of cheese
  • ¼ cup of parsley
  • 1½ tbsp of garlic
  • Salt, Black Pepper & Mixed Herbs to taste

Note: Potatoes should neither be sliced too thick nor too thin.

How to make it:
  • The first step is to prepare the sauce. While some recipes call for a pre-cooked sauce, we are going to follow a different approach.
  • Take a big bowl and add in the cream, milk, garlic, salt, black pepper & mixed herbs. After which you have to mix everything well till combined.
  • Now, add in the cheese, cilantro, and parsley. Mix again.
  • Next, grease a baking dish generously with butter.
  • Arrange the potato slices, and on top of that arrange the onion slices.
  • Pour the sauce evenly all over.
  • Optionally, you can add even more cheese on top of it as I did.
  • Put it in the oven at 200° C for about 45 minutes.
  • Afterward, take it out, cover with a thick foil, and bake again for 15 minutes.
  • Finally, it’s ready! Serve it with soft buns, soup, dinner rolls, garlic bread, or just anything you want!

Notes
