Homemade Cream Cheese

Homemade Cream Cheese is definitely one of the easiest recipes out there, and making it requires only three ingredients that are probably there in your fridge right now! The taste, the creamy texture is definitely better than the store-bought ones and once you try it, you are going to fall in love with the freshness & ease of homemade cream cheese!

It can be used in so many things! But one of my favorite uses of cream cheese is in this super delicious No-Bake Rose Pistachio Dessert as well as this Pudding Style Chocolate Icebox Cake.

And of course, what is a cheesecake without cream cheese! One of my favorite cheesecake recipes is this New York Baked Cheesecake.

Here’s what you need:
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 2 to 3 tbsp of lemon juice
  • ½ cup of yogurt
How to make it:
  • First of all, we are going to heat up the milk in a pan and bring it to a boil.
  • Now, reduce the heat to low so that the milk is now at a gentle simmer.
  • Add the lemon juice. Keep stirring. The milk will start to split and separate.
  • Add the yoghurt and stir well.
  • Once the whey has separated completely, strain the liquid using a strainer and a muslin cloth.
  • Let it stand for 15-20 minutes.
  • Wait till all the liquid is out of the cheese.
  • Put this in a grinder jar of the mixer and grind to a smooth paste. Add 2 to 3 tbsp of the whey liquid if needed.
  • Now is the time to add flavorings to your homemade cream cheese. You can use anything you like such as Vanilla, Pepper, Salt, Paprika, Oregano, Fresh Herbs,or just anything you fancy.
  • Your homemade cream cheese is ready! Use this to fill and frost your cakes, make cheesecakes, frostings, dips, and spreads.
